--2 Corinthians 3:17(AMP)
Recently, I had the opportunity to talk with someone who was battling with unforgiveness. This person was deeply hurt and wounded by the words of others. He was experiencing the internal conflict that comes when we know forgiveness is the "right" thing to do, but hurt and offense are in the driver's seat of our emotions.
Can you relate? Everything in you wants to forgive, you are trying your best to forgive, but offense becomes an intruder and ultimately an unwelcome guest in your heart. So, what is one to do?
When we are struggling to overcome an offense in our human efforts, skills, and techniques--we will end up falling short. However, when we ask Yeshua for help in this area, He never disappoints. True freedom from offense is found in His presence because where His Spirit is, there is complete emancipation from the bondage of offense.
"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."--Psalm 16:11
If you are struggling to overcome an offense, may I encourage you to cry out to the Lord? Residing in "Offenseville" will delay progress and movement in our lives towards our God-given destiny. If you are living in Offenseville, today is Moving Day for you! And that, is good news!
Prayer
Father, in the name of Yeshua, I confess that I am carrying an offense. I have tried to let it go, but I it continues to plague me. I give this offense to you. I pray for your grace and strength to move beyond personal hurt and pain. I trust you with my heart. I believe your word by faith, that you will undo all that is afflicting me (Zephaniah 3:19). I give you praise that it is so! Amen.
