“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”--Jeremiah 1:5(NLT)
Many of us have let people, circumstances, experiences, and personal misconceptions and lies negatively define who we are. What you may have done, what you may have experienced, our what you may have been told about yourself in no way defines you. For example, if you have experienced abuse or mistreatment, it does not mean that you are unworthy to receive love, acceptance, and respect. The truth is God says that you are precious and honored in His sight (Isaiah 43:4)
The Word of God tells us in Jeremiah 1:5 that before conception occurs, God knew you. He knows what he has deposited in you--gifts, talents, abilities, etc. He knows the "true you". Perhaps the true you is a mystery to you. Perhaps it is hidden or buried under lies, trauma, disappointment or self-abasing. If so, God has given you the key to unlocking and discovering who He says you are in Him; it is found in His word (Matthew 16:19).
Don't allow the enemy, people, or yourself to rob you of another day with questioning or second guessing who you are. Forbid it! You have been given the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, from God Himself. Therefore you have access, freedom, permission, and authority to be who God created you to be.
If you are unsure about who you are in Him, ask God to show you. Ask Him to show his original design, intent, and purpose for your life. Lock the enemies of your soul out with the keys you have been given, and allow the redemptive, resurrection power of Jesus into your heart and mind to discover the true you!
