Fill My Cup, Lord
Article by Pat Marriott
The Lord knew everything about the Samaritan woman at the well, even her immorality. Yet, He had time for her. Just like the woman at the well, the Lord knows all about you and has time for you, too. He does not care what part of town you are from--He will not ostracize or condemn you.
We all thirst and need to be refreshed. God's Word says in Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." When we drink from the cup that Jesus gives, we will never thirst again. The water that He gives shall be like a well of water that springs up into everlasting life.
Keep asking the Lord to fill your cup. You can go to that well at anytime to have your cup filled. At that well called "Refreshing", you can commune with the Lord. There, He can tell you all about you. At "Refreshing", you can have quiet meditation time. At "Refreshing", you can have a time of reflection. At "Refreshing", you can have blessed quietness.
The Lord God our Father is the only One who can fill your cup until it overflows. He is the only One who can let your cup run over and satisfy your thirst.
LORD, FILL MY CUP TILL IT OVER FLOWS!
Scripture references: John 4:1-30, Psalm 81:10, Psalm 23:5
"Fill My Cup, Lord"
Traditional Hymn by Richard Blanchard
Like the woman at the well I was seeking for things that could not satisfy;
And then I heard my Savior speaking:
"Draw from My well that will never run dry."
There are millions in this world who are craving the pleasures earthly things can afford;
But none can match the wondrous treasure that I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.

"Fill my cup, Lord. I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul; Bread of heaven, feed me 'til I want no more-- Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!" |
