"Problem-solving"
Sermon by Rev. Harrod Emmanuel Clay, Jr.
How do you solve your problems? Discover the role God has called you to play! Many problems can be traced back to a lack of understanding our roles. Roles are powerful. We must understand the power of a role. When we have no regard for our roles, or we take on roles that God never intended; chaos is created. Everything becomes intertwined, mixed, and mingled. We lose our ability to discern differences. Our distinctiveness is lost.
We see the importance of roles played out in Scriptures. We cannot go anywhere in the Scriptures and not find roles. In Genesis 25, we read of Jacob and Esau. Here we see Jacob's appreciation for Esau's birthright. He understood that the birthright entitled Esau to play several roles. We also see that Esau did not have the same appreciation for his own birthright. As such, he relinquished his role as the priest of the family when he sold his birthright for a bowl of stew.
Conversely, we see in Exodus 17 major victory because everyone had a role; a designated function. As long as Aaron and Hur held up Moses' arms, Joshua and the Israelites were victorious in battle. When you are in your role, your are in position.
Ask God what is the role that he has called you to play. Ask what is your function. Surrender any role that God has not called you. Function in the role God has called you to and experience victory.
