What is Christian Counseling?
"Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out."--Proverbs 20:5
Christian counseling is counseling that restores and heals the deepest wounds and issues of the heart through the love of Christ, biblical principles, and psychology. It is counseling that recognizes that the core longings of the human soul can only be met by God.
It is counseling that recognizes that Jesus Christ is the Counselor (Isaiah 9:6), and because of His redemptive work on the cross--no matter what the human experience has been--real wholeness, healing, change, and restoration is available and attainable. Through the power of His resurrection we can live lives of freedom, joy, and peace!
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."--Isaiah 61:1-3
