When there is involvement in the occult, as outlined in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, we are deviating from a relationship with God and veering into demonic territory; Satan's realm. When we fraternize with darkness, we are aligning ourselves with things that are dark. We will invariably begin to see fruits of darkness come to bear in our lives; toxic fruits of fear, worry, despair, anxiety, dread, chaos, frustration, and confusion to name but a few--all the antithesis of God's character, traits, and attributes.
Answers, solutions, and directions are not found in darkness.
If you have questions concerning life--go to The Source! God, our Creator, knows each one of us, his creations, intimately. No one and no thing can fit that bill! Such knowledge is reserved solely for God. He is the One who crafted us with gifts, talents, purpose, destiny, and divine ability. No one else is as vested in us living abundant, healthy lives as God is.
He wants us in the know so that we are able of fulfill his perfect will for our lives:
"For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."--Jeremiah 29:11-13(AMP
He keeps in the know by way of relationship as he reveals, leads, guides, and directs by his Spirit:
"For God has unveiled them and revealed them to us through the [Holy] Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things [diligently], even [sounding and measuring] the [profound] depths of God [the divine counsels and things far beyond human understanding]."--I Corinthians 2:10(AMP)
God is light; his light is pure, untainted, and undefiled. There is no darkness in him.
"This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection]."--I John 1:5(AMP)
See the aforementioned biblical truths at work in the lives of the following:
- Joseph (Genesis 41--was able to interpret Pharaoh's dreams)
- Deborah (Judges 4--a prophetess who foretold outcomes )
- Samuel (I Samuel 3--warned Eli of God's judgement)
- Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 1:17-20, 2:19-28--deemed 10 times better than all the magicians and enchanters in the kingdom)
- Peter (Acts 5--aware of Ananias and Sapphira's sin and pending death)
If you have or are participating in the occult, may I encourage you stop, repent (turn away), and pursue God? As we draw close to him, he promises to draw close to us.
