I have good news for you today! What if I told you that for every problem--there is a solution, coupled with victory? Interested? Well, it's true! It does not matter what the issue or problem is--relationship problems, emotional distress, addictions (gambling, alcohol, drugs, food, pornography, etc.), problems with kids, workplace troubles, or even problems with neighbors--there is a solution! It is found in God. He IS the solution for anything we are facing. But, we must be active participants in confronting the problem head-on.
As we consider the heroes of the Bible, we can see that, yes; they were great and experienced tremendous victory in the face of very real and scary challenges because God was with them. But, victory did not fall out the sky or happen by osmosis. Victory happened internally--at the heart level before it was ever an outward reality.
- Abraham (Genesis)
- Caleb (Numbers 13:30)
- Deborah (Judges 4)
- David (I Samuel 17)
- Jehu (2 Kings 9)
- Ezra (Ezra 3)
- Paul (Acts 16)
We win at the moment of revelation of who God is, and the realization and acceptance that it is possible to defeat an enemy; no matter how intimidating, strong, or ancient (been around for a long time).
Yielding to the word of God, obeying/following his instruction, and receiving it all by faith is key. When it's getting real and the challenges seem impossible, overwhelming, and insurmountable--that's prime time for God! When the odds of winning are not in our favor--we will win when we sign on to go with God and keep our ear to His mouth so that we can hear and receive His direction and instruction, as in the case of the aforementioned Bible heroes.
“When you go to war and see before you vast numbers of horses and chariots, an army far greater than yours, don’t be frightened! The Lord your God is with you—the same God who brought you safely out of Egypt!"
--Deuteronomy 20:1(TLB)
“The Lord will defeat your enemies before you; they will march out together against you but scatter before you in seven directions!"--Deuteronomy 28:7(TLB)
