If your head is bowed low today, I have good news for you! God is the One who can lift it, and take away what is causing the bowing. The Hebrew word for lifter is "ruwm", meaning to raise, exalt, set on high, lift up and take away. Good news, right? Yes. But, it does not mean problems "disappear", nor does it mean that we live a life of indifference or denial. What is does mean is that as we acknowledge the Lord as our shield, our glory, and the One who lifts our heads high, He imparts solutions to problems. He dialogues with us and gives answers to our questions, through his word. He gives us grace and strength to confront what is plaguing our souls (Isaiah 40:29-31). He gives us authority and power (Luke 9:1). He brings comfort and peace when are hearts are weary and downtrodden because he is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for everyone whose head is bowed low today. I decree your word over their lives, that you are the One who lifts our heads high. I pray that they would receive the truth of your word today and that it would invigorate and revive their spirits. Renew their strength. Cause them to mount up on wings like the eagle. May they run and not faint.
I also pray for Vicky. May she experience the lifting that only you can bring. I pray that she would shout with joy in triumph!
