King David was no stranger to opposition and haters. He regularly encountered those who were against him. One of his chief "haters" was King Saul. After Saul was stripped of his position as king, and the prophet Samuel anointed David as the next king of Israel--Saul was furious! He looked for opportunities to harm David. The word of God tells us that Saul devised mischief in his heart towards David. Yet, David had done nothing to warrant Saul's relentless attacks against him. It was public knowledge that Saul hated David. David would often run for his life because of Saul's pursuit. Even when David hid from Saul, people, namely the Ziphites (I Samuel 23 and I Samuel 26), would inform Saul of David's hiding places. Do you see how David's hater, Saul, had help? And yet each time it would seem Saul was gaining the upper hand, David would pray and ask God for instruction and direction. Without fail, God would sovereignly lead and protect David, because he was bound for the throne. Saul could not change that, and he knew it.
What do you do when the enemy is hot on your heels? What do you do when it appears that your haters have help? Remember that God is for you! When we turn to the Lord for help, He NEVER disappoints. He gives uncommon insight, instruction, and direction. He will reveal strategies that ensure victory when we seek him.
No matter how many haters or "hater-helpers" you may have, it does change what God has pre-planned for your life. Your haters cannot keep you from your destiny. But, they will work over-time to get YOU to forfeit your destiny by causing frustration, fear, doubt, and anxiety. Don't listen to them! Listen to God! Pursue him like never before. Your victory is a guarantee!
